Position Summary

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system comprising 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments, along with rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an inpatient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Position Summary

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities
  1. Essential Functions
  2. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor conducive to quality care.
  3. Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  4. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations for each modality.
  5. Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic goals.
  6. Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  7. Provides instructions to ensure patient cooperation and desired results.
  8. Performs proper patient identification, acquires clinical history, and documents information accurately.
  9. Positions patient and equipment, manipulates technical factors to produce high-quality images for interpretation.
  10. Assesses images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
  11. Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  12. Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks.
  13. Proficient in contrast medication administration, with and without power injectors.
  14. Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for contrast administration as prescribed.
  15. Administers medical aid in cases of contrast reactions or other emergencies.
  16. Uses standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.
  17. Supervises student technologists and trains new technologists.
  18. Utilizes all radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  19. Ensures the safety of all patients and staff.
  20. Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and regulations.
  21. Complies with all organizational policies, guidelines, and educational requirements.
Qualifications
  1. Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  2. Licensure/Certification: Valid Florida Radiologic Technologist license, ARRT certification or NMTCB in CT, and current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
