Qualifications

• Formal Radiology technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Current ARRT registry.
• Advanced CT certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
• CPR and BLS training.
• Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging duties as assigned and conducts CT procedures according to set protocols.
• Evaluates requests and determines appropriate procedure protocol and method.
• Uses imaging systems, devices and patient positioning to generate high-quality images.
• Provides patient education before, during, and after the procedure to ease anxiety.
• Documents procedures and ensures correct charging and record-keeping.
• Maintains equipment and reports malfunctions to the appropriate person.
• Adheres to strict radiation safety practices to minimize exposure.
• Collaborates with radiologists and staff for optimal patient care.
