Qualifications

• Completion of formal Radiology technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Current ARRT registry.
• Advanced CT certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Licensure by the State of Illinois (IEMA).
• CPR and BLS training required.
• Effective communication skills and patient care are essential.

Responsibilities

• Performs imaging duties as assigned.
• Performs CT procedures according to radiologist protocols.
• Assesses requests and determines appropriate procedure protocol and method.
• Uses imaging systems and patient positioning techniques to generate quality images.
• Cares for patients throughout procedures and maintains safety standards.
• Assists with lifting and transporting patients to imaging devices.
• Evaluates images against standards and notes any deviations for radiologist review.
• Provides patient education to reduce anxiety and improve comfort.
