Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT Radiology Technologist for a full-time position in Illinois. The role involves performing CT scans, preparing patients, and ensuring image quality under Radiologist supervision.

Must hold ARRT Radiology certification with CT registry within one year of hire and current CPR. Responsibilities include patient prep, contrast administration, documentation, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure safety and accuracy in imaging procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology with CT registry within one year and CPR certification.
• Ability to lift/move patients and equipment; adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Identify patients, prep for procedures, explain steps, and document on worksheets.
• Interview patients for medical history; review EMR data for pertinent history; record history on requisitions.
• Assume responsibility for exam from start to dictated results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocol; record type and amount when requested.
• Evaluate image quality; consult Radiologist; process additional images as instructed.
• Provide basic patient care; notify nursing staff of condition changes; assist in emergencies.
• Perform CT scanning; maintain sterile technique; follow infection control policies.
• Handle medications/contrast as directed by licensed practitioner; follow radiation safety standards.
