Qualifications

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide patients with the highest quality of care by focusing on customer service. The incumbent serves as a technologist to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Procedures will require independent judgment and ingenuity to produce optimal visualization of anatomical structures in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The Radiology Technologist also provides technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist physicians, nurses, and other staff in meeting patient needs throughout the facility.

Essential Job Functions

1. Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including X-Ray, CT, and PACS.
2. Perform all imaging exams in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, laws (ALARA), and notify the physician of results.
3. Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse.
4. Maintain documentation, logs, QA/QC for CT and X-Ray, forms, and records in paper and electronic formats.
5. Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing following policies, COLA, and CLIA regulations.
6. Vascular access via peripheral intravenous access and venipuncture.

Other Job Functions

1. Maintain supplies of reagents, consumables, and CT Contrast.
2. Perform routine maintenance and checks on imaging equipment.
3. Learn and perform 12-Lead EKGs.
4. Provide secondary support to Front Office Staff when required.

Basic Qualifications

1. High School diploma or GED.
2. Graduation from AMA-approved Radiology Technology school.
3. Current BLS certification.
4. Certified as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in Texas.
5. Proficiency with X-ray/CT equipment and PACS.
6. Effective communication skills in English; additional languages desirable.
7. 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience preferred.
8. 1+ year ER experience preferred.
9. 2+ years CT experience preferred.
10. Registered Technologist with ARRT preferred.

Physical Requirements

1. Standing, sitting, walking; occasional kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching.
2. Lifting up to 10 lbs regularly; up to 40 lbs occasionally.
3. Visual abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment.
4. Noise level: mild to moderate.
