Job description

Site: Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the supervisor, performs all diagnostic procedures with the knowledge of all pertinent and academic areas to produce consistent, high‑quality exams. Works effectively with patients and physicians and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel. Prioritizes the patient as number one and strives for utmost quality as a technologist. May perform necessary procedures on patients in all age groups.

Essential Functions
  • Perform cardiac and CT interventional procedures
  • Assist the other technologists during procedures.
  • Ensure the proper exam is being administered to the patient. Consult provider as needed.
  • Review images and studies for proper identification and quality.
  • Check patient history, and obtain appropriate waivers and forms, if applicable.
  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Provide educational in‑services to staff, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.
Qualifications
Education

Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging required.
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Radiologic Technologist [State License] – required
  • Registered Technologist [ARRT‑R] – required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] – required within 90 days
  • Computed Tomography registration (ARRT‑CT) – required within 1 year
Experience

CT experience; consider graduates of a formal Radiologic Technology Training program with required license and registration (0–1 year preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with information management subsystem software and CT imaging software.
  • Ability to use computers and computer systems, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to staying technically current and applying new knowledge.
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, file management, and transcription.

Overnights: 6:30 pm–7:00 am, Wednesday/Thursday/Friday

Pay Range: $38.30 – $56.59 per hour

Grade: 5

Benefits and Compensation

Sign‑on bonus of $20,000. Base pay is competitive and may include additional bonuses, differentials, and benefits. Employees receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and other standard benefits.
