Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist in Chicago to perform diagnostic CT imaging during three 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm - 7:00am). The role emphasizes patient safety, image quality, and adherence to ALARA principles and department protocols.

The candidate will administer contrast, prepare patients, and ensure complete study transfer to PACS with proper documentation, while maintaining equipment readiness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT CT certification.
• IEMA Accreditation.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical records and image archive system.
• Ensures compliance with radiation safety, MRI safety, and infection prevention measures.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

ARRT Computed Tomography (CT)

Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation

Basic Life Support (BLS)
