Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• IEMA Accreditation required for IL.
• BLS certification required.
• ARRT CT certification within 12 months or 10+ years experience in lieu of certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient safety throughout imaging process from screening to post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality CT images using approved protocols.
• Apply professional judgment within protocols to optimize image quality.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action if needed.
• Administers contrast per policy with screening for contraindications and monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment issues and follows up through service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical record and image archive systems.
• Adheres to ethical standards and compliance requirements.
• Ensures quality and safety standards, including ALARA principles.
• Ensures positive patient experience during care delivery.
• Supports department initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Verifies orders and protocol; positions patient and selects parameters correctly.
• Ensures right patient and right exam.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification within 12 months of hire or 10+ years relevant experience
