Job summary

Highmark Health's Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures independently, ensuring high-quality results and patient safety. The role includes patient education, contrast administration when ordered, and strict adherence to safety and quality control standards.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree and ARRT/NMTCB certification, with CT experience preferred and CPR compliance.

Qualifications

Minimum Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
ARRT Registered (RT) in radiography (R) or NMTCB registered (CNMT) at time of hire.
CT certification within 18 months if not currently certified; prior CT experience preferred.
CPR – American Heart Association.
Act 34/33/73 background clearances and FBI fingerprinting as applicable.

Responsibilities

Positions patient and performs imaging procedures independently.
Analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality.
Resolves image quality issues, including repositioning and repeats.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Reviews history and educates patient about procedures and exam.
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications; monitors patient condition.
Prepares equipment, selects exposure factors, implements safety standards and QC.
