Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist for a part-time Weekend Program. The role is 20 hours weekly, with Saturday and Sunday shifts 10:00am-8:30pm, on-call and holiday rotation, and a $4,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

The CT Technologist will perform imaging procedures using approved protocols, ensure patient safety, administer contrast when appropriate, and maintain equipment and documentation while supporting departmental initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• Illinois IEMA accreditation required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy and patient monitoring.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.

Description

This is a part time position at 20 hours per week located at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital. This role is a part of the Weekend Program and offers premium pay on top of base pay. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 10a-830p, with on call and holiday rotation. A $4,000 sign on bonus is being offered to elgible applicants. **

The CT Technologist Weekend reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set‑up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

Licensure:

• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Accreditation

Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:

• 1 year experience
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT)
