Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time CT Technologist for the Lake Forest Hospital Weekend Program. Work Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with on-call and holiday rotation. A $4,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible applicants.

The CT technologist will support patient safety, produce diagnostic-quality images, and adhere to imaging protocols while maintaining equipment readiness and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate radiology technologist program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ARRT CT certification preferred
• 1 year experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Applies professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy and monitors the patient as applicable.
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical records and image archive system.

Job Description

This is a part time position at 20 hours per week located at Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital. This role is a part of the Weekend Program and offers premium pay on top of base pay. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 10a-830p, with on call and holiday rotation. A $4,000 sign on bonus is being offered to elgible applicants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process, including screening, preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Identifies equipment performance issues and initiates follow-up through established service processes.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery
• Supports department initiatives to improve relationships, reliability, efficiency, growth
• Supports additional responsibilities aligned with patient care and department needs

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT)
