Job summary

University of Rochester's Imaging Sciences-CT team is hiring a CT Technologist to perform CT exams, administer IV contrast, and ensure ALARA safety under supervision. The position is an evening shift (3pm–11:30pm), Monday–Friday, with duties including patient prep, imaging, and post-procedure instructions.

Required are NYS licensure as Radiologic Technologist and ARRT certification with CE credits, plus formal radiologic technology training or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams by following and verifying orders and staying in compliance with department policies.
• Responsible for performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IVs, scanning patients safely and efficiently, injecting IV contrast, preparing oral contrast, and completing documentation.
• Discharges patients from CT with post-procedure instructions.
• Identifies patient service requirements and educates patients/families regarding procedures.
• Prepares patients for radiologic/CT procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment and exposure factors.
• Maintains high-quality CT images and prepares them for interpretation.
• Maintains documentation and follows safety policies (ALARA).
• May train new employees or lead day-to-day activities.
