Job Summary: $15,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants! This posting reflects an opening for a CT Technologist I. We are seeking candidates for that position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels of this role, including CT Technologist II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists are responsible for administering ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform computed tomography and molecular imaging procedures, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, interpretation, and perform interventional and therapeutic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. CT Technologists independently perform or assist with these procedures, preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

Job Duties
  1. Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared, and clinical history is documented while respecting confidentiality.
  2. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, maximize patient safety, and apply ALARA principles.
  3. Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed.
  4. Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality, verify archival storage and transfer of data, and perform post-processing if applicable.
  5. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  6. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures.
  7. Perform CT procedures as prescribed.
  8. Demonstrate commitment to department and organizational priorities.
  9. Be fully proficient in routine and complex duties.
  10. Participate in quality or process improvement activities.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Additional competencies may be outlined in department-specific orientation.

Position Details

The following certifications are required upon hire:

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • OR Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARRT-CT
