Up to $25,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants! This posting is for an MRI Technologist I position. Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels, such as MRI Technologist II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. We encourage all qualified individuals to apply. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists use radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform MRI scans, acquire and analyze data for diagnosis, and may assist licensed practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing, administering, and documenting activities related to medications in accordance with laws and policies.

Job Duties
  1. Ensure correct order, proper patient identification and preparation, and proper documentation while respecting confidentiality.
  2. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and maximize patient safety.
  3. Prepare and/or administer medications as prescribed.
  4. Evaluate images for quality and proper positioning; verify data transfer and storage.
  5. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  6. Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risks.
  7. Assist with MRI interventional procedures.
  8. Perform MRI procedures as prescribed.
  9. Select appropriate pulse sequences considering protocols and data acquisition factors.
  10. Participate in MRI safety implant investigations and approvals.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with policies and procedures, and additional department-specific skills may be necessary.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year related work experience (Preferred).
Certifications and Licenses
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
