Summary:
  • Performs a variety of CT imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Equipment: Responsible for the utilization of CT equipment to ensure care and safety of patients, minimizing hazards such as electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation. Follows and completes quality control on equipment. Demonstrates proper use and troubleshooting skills.
  • Education: Possesses knowledge of procedures, responds to patient or family questions, attends mandatory meetings and inservices, maintains CPR and ARRT/CT certifications, and participates in training of new staff and students.
  • Clinical: Introduces self to patient, verifies identity and understanding, practices aseptic techniques, reviews clinical history, obtains lab results, performs vein puncture, documents appropriately, adapts imaging procedures, monitors image quality, maintains ALARA standards, recognizes emergency signs, and manages workflow.
  • Clerical: Utilizes IDX efficiently, documents patient info, provides documentation for medication reconciliation, maintains confidentiality, and verifies patient data.
  • Management: Performs duties ethically, promotes teamwork, communicates effectively, manages patient queue, prepares treatment rooms, attends meetings, and monitors workflow.
  • Performance Improvement: Participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Safety: Adheres to TJC and state regulations, follows safety programs, and is aware of fire and safety regulations.
Credentials:
  • Certification in Thnatlgy-Dth-Dying-Brv (Required)
  • CT certification within 1 year of hire
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or hospital-trained
  • Equivalent experience acceptable
