Labor & Delivery/PETU/APU- 3 Preston/3Cathcart

The Labor & Delivery, PETU, and APU Units at Pennsylvania Hospital provide holistic, family-centered services to the childbearing population of the Tri-state area including Central and Southern New Jersey, Northern Delaware, and the Greater Philadelphia area and its suburbs.

Labor & Delivery (L&D) is a Level III, tertiary care facility, located on the third floor of the Preston Building, offering services such as management of uncomplicated and complicated pregnancies, operative procedures including cesarean sections, antenatal testing, and pregnancy terminations for genetic reasons.

The Perinatal Evaluation and Treatment Unit (PETU) is a Level III, tertiary care facility providing triage, evaluation, and treatment of pregnancy complications from 13 to 42 weeks of gestation, including postpartum evaluation for preeclampsia.

The Antepartum Unit (APU) is a Level III, tertiary care facility offering treatment for pregnancy complications from 5 to 42 weeks of gestation, including antenatal testing, cervical ripening, and care for fetal or neonatal loss.
