Job summary

Wilson County Memorial Hospital District is seeking a CT technologist to operate the CT scanner, position patients, and administer contrast as ordered. You will monitor patient safety, review images for quality, and perform post-processing to support accurate diagnoses.

The role requires ARRT CT certification and MRT license, with an AA degree or equivalent. Experience with Meditech HIS/RIS is preferred. On-site work in Floresville, Texas.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• ARRT certification in CT and MRT state license required.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT scanner to produce cross-sectional images.
• Positions and immobilizes patient per Radiologist protocols.
• Administers contrast media as ordered.
• Enters scan data (type, slice thickness, time) into computer.
• Starts CT scanner and monitors patient safety and comfort.
• Reviews images for quality and completeness.
• Performs post-processing (MIP, multiplanar recon).
• Ensures charges for supplies and procedures are entered properly in HIS/RIS.

Summary Operates computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional images of patients body for diagnostic purposes by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table, using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by Radiologist.Administers contrast media orally or intravenously as ordered by physician/radiologist.Enters data such as type of scan requested, slice thickness, scan time, and other technical data into computer.Starts CT scanner to scan designated anatomical area of patient.Talks to patient over intercom system and observes patient through window of control room to monitor patient safety and comfort.Views images of organs or tissue on CT monitor display screen to ensure quality of images.Performs CT image post-processing to include MIPPING and mutiplanar reconstruction.Evaluates images (studies) for completeness and optimal technical quality.Ensures procedure charges, to include supplies used, are entered correctly and in a timely manner in the Meditech HIS and RIS.Education and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree (A.
