Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a CT Technologist to capture precise diagnostic CT images and support radiologists in accurate diagnoses. You will perform cross‑sectional imaging of skeleton, tissues, and organs while ensuring a compassionate patient experience throughout the imaging process.

You will follow imaging protocols, assist patients of all ages, and coordinate with nursing staff. A WA radiography license, ARRT certification, CPR, and 1 year of experience are required to

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiological Technology with cross‑sectional anatomy coursework or demonstrated cross‑sectional knowledge.
• 1 year of work experience in the senior level of the core job family or equivalent
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT upon hire
• Basic Life Support (CPR) upon hire
• Medical Radiographer license - WA upon hire

Responsibilities

• Executes diagnostic CT studies using GE CT scanners and related equipment.
• Follows formal protocols; explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Completes examinations including filing and locating old images.
• Delivers patient care for all ages; acts as liaison between patient and radiologist.
• Responds to emergencies while delivering patient care.
• Documents patient condition and care notes in charts; communicates with nursing staff.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions. Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross‑sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process. To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Executes all diagnostic CT studies operating equipment to include, but not limited to General Electric CT scanners, and workstation, Macintosh G3 computer, and associated patient care equipment.
• Follows formal protocols for all work assignments; explains procedure(s) to patient and responds to questions.
• Completes assigned examinations including filming, jacket retrieval and location of old images.
• Delivers patient care for all age groups of patients requiring CT services, acting as a liaison between the patient and the radiologist.
• Performs basic activities in regard to patient care; responds to emergency situations while delivering patient care.
• Consults with nursing floor regarding changes in patient’s condition; documents in-patient charts with patient care notes and completes incident forms for the time patient is in the CT suite.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, (including course work in cross‑sectional anatomy and/or demonstrated skill/knowledge in cross‑sectional anatomy), upon hire and
• One year of work experience in the senior level of the core job family or
• any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
• Medical Radiographer: WA, upon hire

Preferred

• One year of work experience as a CT Technologist

Pay Range

$40.76 - $68.42 /hour
