Job summary

Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire seeks an experienced CT technologist to operate the CT scanner and provide high-quality cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic use. You will position patients, administer contrast, and ensure safety procedures in a fast-paced radiology department.

The role requires ARRT eligibility or certification, a MIRT license, and CPR within 90 days of hire. You will contribute to image quality and patient care while adhering to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• ARRT or eligible credential is required or anticipated.
• MIRT license is required or eligible.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Positions and immobilizes patient on procedure table and uses supportive devices to obtain accurate positioning per Radiologist instructions.
• Administers contrast orally and intravenously as required for scans.
• Enters data including scan type, slice thickness, scan time and other technical parameters into the computer.
• Views images on the display to ensure quality of pictures and assesses image quality.
• Evaluates radiographs and system data for technical quality.
• Demonstrates new techniques, equipment and procedures to staff.
• Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to protect patients and staff and comply with regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

Operates computerized tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radiographs of patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Directs and coordinates activities of CT modality by performing the following duties.

Requirements

Major Responsibilities

• Positions and immobilizes patient on procedure table; using supportive devices to obtain precise patient position and following protocols specified by the Radiologist and performs scans.


• Administers contrast medial orally and intravenously.


• Enters data such as type of scan requested; slice thickness; scan time and other technical data into the computer.


• Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.


• Evaluates radiographs and computer generated information for technical quality.


• Demonstrates new techniques; equipment and procedures to staff.


• Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients and staff and compliance with government regulatory requirements.


• Performs other duties as assigned.
