Job summary

Merit Health River Region Medical Center is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort.

The role requires 1–2 years of radiologic sciences training and 2–4 years CT experience preferred. licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required, with CT certification or eligibility within six months of hire. PRN schedule implies as-needed shifts.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of clinical radiologic sciences program experience required.
• 2–4 years CT Technologist experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required by state; CT certification/eligibility within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images per protocols.
• Prepares and positions patients for CT procedures with appropriate immobilization.
• Verifies patient identification, orders, and screening for contraindications.
• Performs point‑of‑care creatinine testing and calculates GFR for contrast studies as needed.
• Administers contrast media following safety protocols and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Explains procedures to patients and provides instructions during/after exams.
• Collaborates with radiologists and healthcare team for timely, patient-centered care.
• Assists with interventional CT procedures (biopsies/drain placements) and sterile setup.
• Reviews images for technical accuracy and communicates findings to the team.
• Documents patient history and correlates with imaging for accurate interpretation.
• Maintains QC checks on CT equipment and reports malfunctions promptly.
• Responds to emergencies per facility protocols and maintains supply readiness.
