Job summary

Merit Health River Region in Mississippi is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT equipment, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and ensure patient safety and comfort per established protocols.

You will prepare and position patients, verify orders, assist radiologists, perform contrast administration and quality control, and contribute to timely, patient-centered care in a fast-paced radiology department.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical radiologic experience through an accredited program.
• 2-4 years CT technologist experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state.
• CT certification or eligibility to obtain within six months of hire.
• BCLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images per protocols.
• Prepares and positions patients, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Verifies orders and screens for contraindications to contrast studies.
• Performs contrast administration and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Assists radiologists and healthcare team for timely imaging results.
• Maintains CT equipment and conducts routine quality control.
• Documents patient history and correlates with imaging findings.
• Responds to emergency imaging needs per facility protocols.
• Maintains clean, stocked work area and adheres to infection control.
