Job summary

Rush Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a CT Technologist for per diem shifts. The role offers evening, night, and weekend coverage with very flexible hours and a $50/hour compensation. Responsibilities include positioning patients, operating the CT scanner, administering contrast per physician instruction, and ensuring image quality.

PRN staff enjoy parking and access to hospital resources. Qualifications include ARRT CMRT, BLS, and active state licensure, with a minimum of 2 years

Qualifications

  • Two years of radiologic technologist experience and active state license where required.
  • At least one year of CT technologist experience (excluding schooling).
  • Current ARRT or CMRT certification and BLS certification.
  • Requires continuing education compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and ensure comfort.
  • Position patients correctly and adjust technical factors for quality studies.
  • Operate CT scanner to produce cross-sectional images.
  • Administer contrast media as directed.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and report them.
  • Perform routine QA on equipment.
  • Handle clerical duties as needed.

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Per Diem / PRN - Evening Shifts, Night Shifts and/or weekend shifts available - Very Flexible Hours

Compensation: $50 per hour

Position: CT Technologist

  • Use of proper patient positioning and technical factors to consistently produce quality diagnostic studies.
  • Correctly operate a CT scanner to produce cross-sectional images of desired patient anatomy.
  • Administer contrast media as directed by referring physician.
  • Monitor the patient for any adverse drug events and report accordingly.
  • Perform routine quality assurance on equipment and identify basic malfunctions.
  • Perform clerical duties, as needed, such as answering phones.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and hold current state license (as required).
  • At least 1 year experience as a CT Technologist (not including school).
  • Must have ARRT or CMRT certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must be current with Continuing Education in all fields of licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating facility-specific equipment desirable.
