CT Technologist – Evening Shift

Employment Status: Full time • Shift: Day/Evening • Location: 1906 Belleview Ave SE – Roanoke, VA

Role Overview

The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic images for patients. The role involves operating highly specialized equipment, evaluating patient positioning, managing IV contrast injections, and coordinating care with physicians, other healthcare providers, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Perform IV contrast injections and other required technical skills.
• Evaluate and position patients to meet specific imaging needs.
• Interpret imaging information to ensure accurate diagnostics.
• Interact with patients, families, visitors, and the healthcare team to develop and coordinate care plans.
• Assist patients with scheduling, registration, file management, and computer processing.
• Provide training to students and staff as assigned.
• Travel to other Carilion facilities to meet patient needs when required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• No prior experience required.

Licensure and Certification

• CT registered within one year of hire (ARRT registry).

AHA/BLS/HCP

• Life Support: AHA-BLS-HCP.

Other Requirements

• Good interpersonal and technical skills.
• Flexibility in assignments.
