Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a CT Technologist at the Barberton campus. The role operates CT and radiology equipment to produce diagnostic scans, ensuring proper record handling and timely results.

You will work under indirect supervision, reviewing images with a Radiologist and assisting with invasive procedures as trained. Minimum qualifications include AMA-approved Radiologic Technology education, OH Radiographer licensure, ARRT registration, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
• One year Radiology technology experience preferred; CT Registry preferred.
• Demonstrates dexterity to operate equipment, position patients and administer contrast.
• Able to communicate with patients, physicians and staff; capable of patient handling and CPR.
• CPR certification required; ability to interact with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT and Radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic CT scans and radiographs under indirect supervision.
• Ensures patient records and procedure results are processed promptly.
• Evaluates images with Radiologist and takes additional images as needed.
• Assists with invasive radiology procedures as trained.
• Performs other radiology duties as skill allows.

40 hours per week / Rotating hours 7p-730a (12hr shifts) and 7p-530a (10hr shifts) / Every other weekend / Rotating Holidays

Summary

Operates Computerized Tomography and Radiologic equipment to produce Diagnostic C.T. Scans and diagnostic radiographs, under indirect supervision. Ensures all aspects of patients' records are processed properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner. Evaluates images with Radiologist, takes additional images as needed or requested. Assists with procedures of an invasive nature. Performs other assigned duties as training and skills allow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:
• Graduate of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Must be licensed as a Radiographer by the State of Ohio.
• Experience & Training Required:
• One (1) year Radiology Technology experience preferred.
• CT Registry preferred.
• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
• Manual dexterity sufficient to calibrate and operate equipment, properly position patients, apply and adjust restraining devices and administer intravenous injections of contrast.
• Ability to communicate verbally with patients, physicians and other hospital employees.
• Ability to lift and position patients.
• Successful completion of training to perform other radiology procedures.
• Ability to utilize computer system and file system to facilitate patient records.
• Ability to initiate CPR and (CPR Certification).
• Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
• Level of Physical Demands:
• Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
