Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare West seeks a CT Technologist to join our imaging team in West Houston. You will prepare patients, explain procedures, and position them to obtain diagnostic CT images under physician guidance.

The role requires CT equipment proficiency, dose optimization, and strong collaboration with radiologists and nursing staff. Certification and BLS required; a supportive environment and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
• (ARRT-R) Radiography

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in patient preparation including consent, scheduling and screening, patient education.
• Demonstrates knowledge of patient assessment including history, monitoring, vital signs, oximetry, heart rhythm.
• Demonstrates knowledge of laboratory values including renal function (e.g. BUN, Creatinine clearance, GFR, PT.
• Demonstrates knowledge of IV procedures, venipuncture, site selection, aseptic and sterile technique.
• Demonstrates knowledge of contrast agents, ionic, non-ionic, hyper-osmolar, iso-osmolar, barium sulfate, water.
• Demonstrates knowledge of administration route (IV, oral, rectal, intrathecal, catheters, intra-articular) and calculations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of technical factors affecting patient dose; KVp, MAs, pitch, collimation MA modulation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of radiation protection and dose measurement and CT dose index (CTDI).
