Job Summary:

The CT Technologist provides direct patient care by applying diagnostic imaging skills utilizing CT scanning equipment. They assist in diagnosing and treating patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

Essential Functions:

• Verify all pertinent patient and procedural data.
• Perform computed tomography procedures.
• Properly position and immobilize patients on CT scanning cradles.
• Make radiation exposures by energizing the scanner.
• Administer intravenous injections and oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contrast agents as required.

• Assist radiologists with biopsies and drainage procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
• Participate in on-call rotation and timeout procedures as required.

Education:

• Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).

Licensure/Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required).
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (preferred).
• Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred or must obtain within 2 years).
• State Licensure (preferred).

Experience:

• One year of experience as a CT or Radiologic Technologist (preferred).

• Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (preferred).
• Experience with Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred).
