Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center in Nashville is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT exams, ensure high-quality imaging, and uphold ALARA practices. You will interact with radiologists, patients, and families, prepare supplies, and manage documentation.

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT CT within 1 year, and BLS. On-call coverage and ongoing credential maintenance are expected as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT (R) certification.
• ARRT (CT) certification within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility.
• 1 year post-graduate experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring high quality of care.
• Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies.
• Take patient history and retrieve orders or prior images.
• Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist.
• Appropriately complete documentation.
• Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
• Support ALARA principles.
• Inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
• Interact and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members.
• Start IVs for contrast administration.
• Use the power injector.
• Contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
• Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations as outlined in job qualifications.
• Handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking).
• Promote customer service initiatives by adhering to ICARE values.
• Support and participate in quality improvement plans.
• Comply with quarterly targeted metrics.
