Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans, prep patients, start IVs for contrast, and ensure high-quality imaging while maintaining ALARA standards.

The role involves coordinating patient flow, documenting procedures, and communicating with radiologists, physicians, and patients. Team membership includes on-call rotations and ongoing quality improvement participation.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ARRT-CT certification is required.
• ARRT-R certification is required.
• Associate Degree or higher is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner.
• Take patient history and retrieve necessary orders or prior images.
• Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms to the radiologist.
• Complete documentation accurately.
• Coordinate patient flow and verify daily exam list is complete.
• Support ALARA principles to minimize radiation dose.
• Inform patients about procedures and answer questions.
• Interact professionally with physicians, patients, and family members.
• Start IVs for contrast administration.
• Use the power injector.
• Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies.
• Support quality improvement plans.
