Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures, administer contrast, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver high-quality results. The role requires handling IV access, patient education, and adherence to radiation safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• 1–3 years CT experience preferred; trainees considered.
• ARRT Radiography registration required.
• ARRT CT registration required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic CT procedures and techniques.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed.
• Reviews patients’ clinical history ensuring proper scan is ordered and labs are within range.
• Provides patient education.
• Provides practical instruction for students and partners.
• Initiates basic life support actions when necessary.
• Starts and maintains intravenous access and supports ports/lines.
• Operates CT scanner and power injector to obtain diagnostic images.
• Documents CT procedures in the EMR and ensures discharge information is provided.
• Follows ALARA principles to optimize scan techniques and parameters.
