Job Opportunity: CT Scan Technologist 3

The University of Miami UHealth at SoLé Mia, opening in September 2025, aims to bring high-quality academic medicine to North Miami, Aventura, and surrounding communities. Our team of physicians and staff will cover a wide range of specialties, including the NCI–designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the top eye hospital in the nation.

We are seeking a full-time CT Scan Technologist 3 for the Department of Imaging Services at SoLé Mia. The CT Scan Technologist – Level III is responsible for performing complex CT procedures, operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure. The role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative, along with responsibility for specific areas, procedures, and equipment.

Core Job Functions
  1. Apply physical age-specific and developmental care needs of patients, ensuring competency validation.
  2. Establish rapport with patients/families, obtain consents, and provide exam education.
  3. Operate CT scanners and related equipment following safety protocols under supervision of a Radiologist.
  4. Integrate diagnostic results, patient history, and medical records to adapt exams as needed.
  5. Adhere to protocols to maintain high standards and ensure safety.
  6. Maintain aseptic technique and cleanliness of the work area.
  7. Evaluate CT scans for quality, label, and transmit images appropriately.
  8. Report unusual findings promptly to radiologists or supervisory staff.
  9. Perform basic nursing functions and assist in emergencies, including CPR and 'Code Blue'.
  10. Assist radiologists in developing new protocols and imaging techniques.
  11. Verify patient identity and obtain necessary consents.
  12. Maintain and disinfect equipment according to procedures.
  13. Prepare contrast agents and adjust settings per procedure and radiologist preferences.
  14. Follow all institutional policies and safeguard assets.

  • Education: Associate degree in a relevant field
