Job summary

10 Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center is seeking a CT Technologist to produce diagnostic CT images and adjust technique for high-quality results. The role requires an AS degree, ARRT CT and Radiography certifications, BLS, and Illinois IEMA awareness.

Compensation: $32.10–$49.76 per hour with a $10,000 sign-on bonus. This full-time position is based in the CT Scanning department, with standard 40-hour weeks and on-site work duties.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• ARRT Certification CT within 1 year of hire.
• ARRT Radiography certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS or CPR within 90 days of hire.
• IEMA - Illinois certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurate image identification.
• Assures accuracy and high quality images.
• Completes continuing education on CT safety annually.
• Obtains proper consent for procedures.
• Performs CT exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling equipment.
• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media under radiologist guidance.
• Documents radiation dose and contrast use in patient chart.
• Monitors Creatinine & GFR for contrast decisions.
• Follows protocols for abnormal levels and consults with physician/nurse as needed.
• Uses PACS/HIS to archive patient data.
• Maintains radiation safety for minimal dose while ensuring quality.

CT Technologist: $10,000 sign on bonus

CT Technologist is responsible for the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist; the employee should have knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment and be able to make adjustments in technique and patient positioning to provide images of excellent quality.

Department: CT Scanning, Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required, Required: AS degree, IEMA, ARRT (R)(CT) and BLS Pay: Based on experience, starting at $30.56/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate image identification.


• Assures accuracy and high quality images.


• Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually.


• Obtains proper consent for procedures.


• Performs CT exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment.


• Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist.


• Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use.


• Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast.


• Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate.


• Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data.


• Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose.
