Job summary

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist for our Salt Lake City, UT facility. The role focuses on patient safety and performing high quality CT studies, with clear communication to radiologists. You may train new technologists and Patient Coordinators as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ARRT CT registration (NMTCB CT acceptable in lieu), state license, CPR, and a valid driver's license. Strong customer service and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• ARRT CT registration required; NMTCB CT acceptable if allowed.
• Utah state license in Medical Imaging, CPR certification.
• Valid state driver’s license where required.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Produce high quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.
• Troubleshoot the CT scanner and peripheral equipment.

This will be a full time position.The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.Produces high quality diagnostic images.Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.Trains new technologist and/or PC's.Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable inlieu of ARRT registry.State license.Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.CPR certification.Technologists performing mid-day moves.Active State Driver’s License.Strong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programsThe COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
