Position Overview

UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring a full-time CT Technologist. The role involves daylight, evening, and night shifts, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

We offer a $15,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants committed to a 2-year work period.

Additionally, for December 2023 or later graduates, UPMC's Monthly Loan Repayment Program provides $9,000 in loan repayment over three years.

Responsibilities

• Perform computed tomography procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration without constant supervision.
• Operate complex imaging equipment for image acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation, following protocols.
• Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked, archived, and charged through RIS and ISITE systems.
• Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders, assessing patient risk factors.
• Communicate clearly with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
• Adjust protocols and apply ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic purposes.
• Interact professionally with patients and staff, demonstrating care and respect.
• Work effectively as part of the team to expedite patient care.
• Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocols.
• Review patient history and physician orders to optimize imaging results.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic records.
• Perform venipuncture and operate power injectors per protocols.
• Graduate from an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program or accredited CNMT program.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

• ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or CNMT certification is required.
• Obtain CT Board Certification within 18 months of hire.
• Maintain BLS or CPR certification per AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
• Act 31, 33, 34, 73 FBI clearances are required.
