Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a CT Technologist I to perform routine CT examinations under established protocols and supervision. You will prepare patients, administer contrast per protocol, and ensure images are accurately transferred to EMR/PACS.

The role requires ARRT CT certification within 12 months of hire and BLS at hire, with ongoing opportunities for education and quality improvement within a collaborative imaging team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program.
• ARRT(RT) certification required within 12 months of hire.
• No prior CT experience required.
• Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered CT imaging and support under routine supervision.
• Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physician-ordered exams.
• Safely administers contrast per protocol.
• Recognizes basic imaging artifacts and applies corrective measures.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the care team to support outcomes.
• Transfers images/data to EMR/PACS and completes basic documentation.
• Performs operator-level quality control, cleaning, disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation in system logs.

General Description:

The CT Technologist I performs routine computed tomography (CT) examinations in accordance with established protocols, policies, and safety standards, with guidance as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Utilizing core knowledge, skills, abilities, and available resources, provides safe, highquality, efficient, and patientcentered care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Care is delivered under appropriate supervision across a variety of settings.

• Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physicianordered exams to support appropriate imaging.

• Safely administers contrast per protocol

• Demonstrates the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance.

• Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards.

• Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes basic technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting.

• Carries out operatorlevel quality control checks, cleaning, highlevel disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.

• Accurately document in EMR/PACS

• Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices.

• Supports inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available.

Minimum Qualifications Level I:

Education: Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or

Experience: At least 3 years of CT experience required.

Education: Associate's Degree required.

Experience: At least 5 years of CT experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

ARRT(RT)(CT) certification is required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Foundational knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, basic radiologic technology concepts, and CTrelated terminology. Applies core CT theory, practices, and techniques to perform examinations and complete basic postprocessing, analysis, and documentation with general supervision or assistance.

• Communication skills to exchange basic information with patients, families, and team members.

• Ability to prioritize and complete assigned clinical and nonclinical work tasks with guidance and direction, progressively developing independence in managing routine responsibilities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with guidance and support, progressively developing effective coping and prioritization skills.

• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
