Job summary

OU Health invites applications for a CT Technologist I for Weekend Days (2 x 12). The role performs routine CT exams, prepares patients, administers contrast, and ensures quality control under supervision. This position emphasizes patient-centered care and accurate image transfer to EMR/PACS.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT certification within 12 months, an associate's degree, and BLS; no prior CT experience is required for Level I, with advancement to Level II/III based on experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT or JRCERT accredited imaging program.
• ARRT(RT) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (AHA) required on hire.
• Associate's Degree required for Level II/III.
• 3+ years CT experience for Level II; 5+ years CT experience for Level III.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, high-quality CT exams under supervision.
• Prepares patients and correlates history with orders for imaging.
• Safely administers contrast per protocol.
• Recognizes artifacts and applies corrective measures.
• Communicates with patients and care team to support outcomes.
• Transfers images to systems, documents studies, and prepares reports.
• Performs quality control checks and basic equipment maintenance.
• Documents in EMR/PACS and maintains records.

General Description:

The CT Technologist I performs routine computed tomography (CT) examinations in accordance with established protocols, policies, and safety standards, with guidance as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Utilizing core knowledge, skills, abilities, and available resources, provides safe, highquality, efficient, and patientcentered care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Care is delivered under appropriate supervision across a variety of settings.
• Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with physicianordered exams to support appropriate imaging.
• Safely administers contrast per protocol
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures independently or under guidance.
• Effectively communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and the care team to support desired clinical outcomes and service standards.
• Accurately transfers images and associated data to designated systems, completes basic technical documentation, and prepares studies for physician reporting.
• Carries out operatorlevel quality control checks, cleaning, highlevel disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance per manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately document in EMR/PACS
• Actively participates in continuing education, professional development, and research initiatives to maintain competencies and advance quality of care and treatment practices.
• Supports inventory tasks as needed to help ensure supplies are available.

Minimum Qualifications Level I:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or

Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.

Experience:

No prior CT experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

ARRT(RT) certification required within 12 months of hire.

Education:

Associate's Degree required.

Experience:

At least 3 years of CT experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

ARRT(RT)(CT) certification is required upon hire.

Minimum Qualifications Level III:

Education:

Associate's Degree required.

Experience:

At least 5 years of CT experience required.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:

Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

ARRT(RT)(CT) certification is required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Foundational knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, basic radiologic technology concepts, and CTrelated terminology. Applies core CT theory, practices, and techniques to perform examinations and complete basic postprocessing, analysis, and documentation with general supervision or assistance.
• Communication skills to exchange basic information with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to prioritize and complete assigned clinical and nonclinical work tasks with guidance and direction, progressively developing independence in managing routine responsibilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain composed in stressful situations with guidance and support, progressively developing effective coping and prioritization skills.
