Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures under radiologist supervision. The role requires independent judgement and adherence to radiation safety to produce diagnostic images.

The candidate will enter patient data in Epic, prepare the patient and equipment, assist during biopsies, and ensure accurate image labeling and records while maintaining a clean, compliant work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal radiologic technology training program meeting ARRT requirements.
• NYS Licensed/Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT Certification in CT.

• Epic tracking equipment.
• OHS Fit Test/OHS Annual Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and room; enter data into Epic and other systems.
• Obtain cross-sectional images with proper protocols and sequences.
• Assist radiologist during biopsy procedures and monitor progression.
• Operate injector when necessary.
• Photograph and label images; maintain records of slices and injections.
• Observe radiation safety rules for patients and staff.
• Train associates and students in CT procedures.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the assigned area.
• Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
• Perform other related tasks.

City/State: Bronx, New York. Grant Funded: No. Department: RAD - Technical. Einstein Bargaining Unit: 1199. Work Shift: Day. Work Days: ALTERNATE WEEKENDS. Scheduled Hours: 9 AM-5 PM. Scheduled Daily Hours: 7 HOURS. Hourly Rate: $59.08.

Job Summary

Under the direction of radiologist, performs Cat Scan Procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

Essential Functions

• Patient and Room Preparation: a) entering patient data into Epic and other appropriate computer systems as necessary.
  b) Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed.
  c) Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure.
• Obtain cross sectional images: This task includes the proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
• Direct involvement during procedure: a) the assistance at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed.
  b) Constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room, monitoring progression of biopsy procedure.
  c) Involved with operating injector when necessary.
• Photographing and processing of images: This task includes photographing and labeling scan images, processing and displaying final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation. Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
• Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
• Train other associates and students in CAT Scan procedures.
• Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area.
• Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
• Perform other related assigned tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training program that meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT.
• NYS Licensed/Registered Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT Certification in CT.
• Radiographic film processor
• CAT Scan Systems
• Epic tracking equipment
• OHS Fit Test/OHS Annual Assessment
