Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY seeks a Radiologic Technologist for the Cardiac Cath Lab to perform advanced imaging with minimal supervision and to provide leadership to staff technologists.

Day shift, Mon-Fri 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, 7.5-hour days. Requirements: ARRT certification, NY license with injection certification, IV contrast certification, AART certification, and an associates degree (bachelors preferred). Cardiac CT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training meeting ARRT certification requirements.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist license and injection certification by the state of New York.
• IV contrast certification required; AART certification required.
• IV insertion experience preferred; Cardiac CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform sophisticated imaging studies with independent judgment under supervision.
• Provide leadership to staff technologists and assign work as required.
• Responsible for traffic control in the technical area and for designated procedures.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under the direction of the Chief Technologist, performs necessary sophisticated imaging studies at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Provides leadership role for staff technologists. Assigns work to staff technologist and is generally responsible for traffic control in technical area.

SCHEDULE

9 AM-5:30 PM. Monday-Friday.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training that meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist- licensed & injection certified by the state of New York.
• IV contrast certified required.
• AART certified required.
• IV insertion experience preferred.
• Experience in Cardiac CT scans preferred.
