Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a CT Technologist for per diem hours at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. The role involves day/evening shifts with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities include imaging quality, patient education, and collaboration with radiology staff to ensure ALARA and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy program.
• Post-primary CT certification within one year of eligibility.
• Current RT licensure in MA and/or RI.
• BLS certification required.
• ARRT or NMTCB registration required.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform diversified clinical radiology duties as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Position patients, select imaging equipment and document data in the EHR.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure and ensure MR safety awareness.
• Assist physicians during procedures and meet per diem requirements.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Responsible for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient's chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures. Maintain the committed Per Diem requirements.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiation Therapy and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography, RT(CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB(CT).
• Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of CT is required for RT's or CNMT's within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI.
• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• RT Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $40.83 - USD $63.63 /Hr.
