Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a CT Technologist at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This role involves diversified clinical imaging, patient assessment, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Evening shift with every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation, and occasional call; pay is competitive with a $15,000 new hire sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Candidates must complete an accredited radiologic program, hold CT certification (RT(CT) or NMTCB(CT)) and MA licensure, plus BLS;

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiation Therapy.
• Post-primary certification in CT required within one year of eligibility (RT(CT) or NMTCB(CT)).
• Current Mass. RT licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diversified clinical patient care and imaging duties as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Obtain patient information, educate for exam, and document data in the EHR.
• Prepare patient and imaging equipment; select technical factors to produce quality images.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize exposure; assist physicians during procedures.

We are searching for a talented CT Technologist

*$15,000 New Hire Sign-On Bonus. Re-hires termed more than 1 year also eligible*

Hours: 32 flex 40hrs

Shift: Evening shift with every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation and occasional call rotation; 3:00pm - 11:30pm with 11:00am - 7:30pm and occasional day shifts

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Under the general supervision and direction of the Manager, Radiology Clinical Services or designee, perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Responsible for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patient's chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures.

• Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiation Therapy and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography, RT(CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB(CT).
• Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of CT is required for RTs or CNMTs within one year of eligibility.
• Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
