Summary

Performs a variety of exams and invasive procedures using computed tomography. Utilizes independent judgment and possesses high-quality skills and knowledge of computed tomography. Works directly with the Radiologist in setting up exams and performing invasive procedures to achieve the highest quality outcome for the patient.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and their families by performing procedures promptly and courteously, resulting in high-quality images.
• Provide excellent communication with healthcare team members and physicians.
• Assist Radiologist by providing diagnostic-quality images for interpretation.
• Project a positive image of the Radiology Department and hospital at all times.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Professional Experience: Clinical rotation during training, completion of a certified CT program, or one year experience as a CT Technologist.

Licensure/Registration/Certification: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: CPR training, ability to make independent decisions, knowledge of intravenous therapy and contrast injection, leadership abilities, and supervision of student technologists.

Work Environment

Potential exposure to infectious diseases, ionizing radiation, and the need for protective equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Walking and standing throughout the shift.
• Pushes and pulls stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Lift patients with assistance.
• Work shifts during high patient volume, rotating call responsibilities.
