Job summary

Akumin in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a part-time CT Technologist to provide safe, high-quality CT studies and effective communication with radiologists. You will ensure patient safety and perform imaging with accuracy in a team-focused outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include training new technologists, troubleshooting scanners and peripherals, and maintaining excellent patient care through clear communication and professionalism. A strong credential set and state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• ARRT-registered CT technologist required; NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT.
• State licensure in Medical Imaging and CPR certification.
• High school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Strong customer service and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to train new technologists and coordinators.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and screen for contraindications to radiation/contrast.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic CT images.

The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.


• Produces high quality diagnostic images.


• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.


• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.


• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.


• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.


• If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.


• State license.


• Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.


• CPR certification.


• Technologists performing mid-day moves.


• Active State Driver’s License.


• Strong customer service skills.


• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.


• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs


• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

• More than 50% of the time:

• See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.


• Less than 50% of the time:


• Stoop, kneel or crawl.


• Climb and balance.


• Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
