Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a CT Technologist for the Huntsville Emergency Room. You will capture precise diagnostic CT images to aid radiologists in accurate diagnoses. You will generate cross sectional images of skeleton, tissues and organs while delivering compassionate patient care throughout the imaging process.

The role requires thorough knowledge of imaging workflow, patient positioning, and reliable image quality essential for timely diagnoses supporting patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire.
• High School GED General Studies, upon hire.
• Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days.
• Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.
• Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT exams on patients according to departmental protocols under Medical Director.
• Prepares equipment ensuring it is operational, safe and functioning per diagnostic standards.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and imaging quality with service representatives.
• Maintains infection control standards and performs room maintenance after procedures.
• Completes quality checks and maintains equipment logs.
• Ensures clinical supplies are stocked for each diagnostic room.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position located at our Huntsville Emergency Room - 540 I-45

As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions.

Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

• Performs CT exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.
• Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards
• Problem‐solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problems
• Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards.
• Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
• Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure

Preferred

• Associates Other, upon hire and
• One (1) year of experience as a radiographer or
• one (1) year of radiography clinical rotation experience in a healthcare setting
