*Responsibilities*
*Position Summary*
Operates diagnostic equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre- and post-diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests including patient positioning, equipment calibration, and documentation of findings under the supervision of the imaging supervisor/manager. Assists patients with basic patient care needs.
*Position Responsibilities*
- Performs CT exams according to departmental protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.
- Prepares and ensures equipment is operational, safe, and functioning correctly.
- Troubleshoots equipment failures and imaging quality issues, contacting service representatives as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and infection control standards through daily equipment and room maintenance.
- Completes quality checks and maintains equipment logs.
- Manages clinical supply inventories for each diagnostic room.
- Participates actively in patient testing, including routine, urgent, and emergent requests.
- Verifies physician orders and ensures the indication for the procedure is appropriate.
- Communicates with Radiologists to determine proper exam protocols.
- Provides patients with information about the diagnostic tests.
- Performs Point of Care testing for lab tests as per hospital guidelines.
- Starts IVs following hospital protocols.
- Completes diagnostic examinations and image post-processing.
- Demonstrates competency in PACS and performs daily QA processes.
- Documents demographic and diagnostic information accurately.
- Monitors and records radiation dose levels.
- Notifies Radiologists of any diagnostic findings requiring communication.
*Qualifications*
Education and Licensure
- Associate’s Degree (preferred)
- Registered by ARRT (R) at hire, maintained current
- Registered by ARRT (CT) within 9 months of hire/transfer
- Certified by the state of Texas – MRT within 9 months of hire/transfer
- CPR/BLS certification (required)
Experience
- Previous CT Tech experience (preferred)

- Good dexterity and handwriting skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
