Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans and support IR procedures under radiologist protocols.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT certification, NJDEP radiology license, BLS, and the ability to maintain equipment and follow Infection Prevention guidelines.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology required within 12 months of hire.
• NJDEP Diagnostic Radiology license required.
• Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technologist program.
• ARRT CT board certification required within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans following radiologist protocols.

Short Description

Performs CAT Scan procedures following protocols established by the Radiologist Operates the CT scanner during IR procedures in the CT department. Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies. Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed. Maintains licensure and BLS. Stays current and participates departmental training offered. Demonstrates courteous behavior, positive attitude, etc. through polite communication with all co- workers/customers.

• Understands and appreciates the need to provide good customer service, both internal and external. Participates in clinical activities (i.e. assists with patient flow/care, helps to optimize throughput of patients via Radiology Transport). Remains compliant of timekeeping rules: Avoids early, late and unauthorized entries. Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfills compliance with life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.

Graduate of AMA Approved Radiologic Technologist Program

Must meet all educational requirements necessary to obtain ARRT certification according to your graduation date.

License/Certification Requirements

Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) within 90 days of hire

Current ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Current NJDEP Diagnostic Radiology License

ARRT Board Certified in Computed Tomography required within 12 months of hire

Special Requirements

Demonstrates effective communication skills and utilizes the AIDET communication framework

Ability to regularly lift patients

Ability to stand for extended periods of time
