Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT imaging expertise to perform CT procedures following radiologist protocols. The role includes operating the CT scanner during IR procedures, maintaining the work area, and ensuring patient safety.

The ideal candidate will hold an AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist Program graduate and ARRT CT certification within 12 months, plus current BLS within 90 days of hire; NJ licensed preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or radiologic technology program graduate; ARRT certification required.
• Current BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• ARRT Board Certified in Computed Tomography required within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans following radiologist protocols and assist in IR procedures.
• Operate CT scanner during IR procedures and monitor patient flow.
• Maintain clean and organized work area, report equipment maintenance issues.
• Adhere to Infection Prevention policies and wear appropriate PPE.
• Comply with timekeeping rules and departmental procedures to ensure patient throughput.

Short Description

Performs CAT Scan procedures following protocols established by the Radiologist Operates the CT scanner during IR procedures in the CT department. Maintains work area: Reports maintenance issues for equipment, monitors supplies and deficiencies. Adheres to all Infection Prevention policies, utilizing the appropriate PPE needed. Maintains licensure and BLS. Stays current and participates departmental training offered. Demonstrates courteous behavior, positive attitude, etc. through polite communication with all co- workers/customers. Understands and appreciates the need to provide good customer service, both internal and external. Participates in clinical activities (i.e. assists with patient flow/care, helps to optimize throughput of patients via Radiology Transport). Remains compliant of timekeeping rules: Avoids early, late and unauthorized entries. Adheres to Departmental procedures, fulfills compliance with life safety, fire and hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention requirements.

• 3-5 preferred

Education Requirements

• Associate's preferred
• Graduate of AMA Approved Radiologic Technologist Program Must meet all educational requirements necessary to obtain ARRT certification according to your graduation date.

License/Certification Requirements

• Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) within 90 days of hire
• Current ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Current NJDEP Diagnostic Radiology License
• ARRT Board Certified in Computed Tomography required within 12 months of hire

• Demonstrates effective communication skills and utilizes the AIDET communication framework
• Ability to regularly lift patients
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
