About the CT Technologist Role

Computed tomography (CT) technologists use CT scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for diagnosis. A CT technologist must accurately interpret physician’s instructions, administer contrast materials, operate the CT equipment, and position the patient correctly.

Work Schedule: Primarily 7:30 pm - 6:00 am

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient chart data and requisitions to determine correct setup and identify any medical issues or contraindications.
• Educate patients about procedures to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including technical and clerical components, to ensure quality assurance and proper documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered with ARRT (R.T.(R))) and in good standing.
• Certification in CT (R.T.(R)(CT)) within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patients.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or assist with lifting patients and manipulate equipment.
• Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
