Job summary

Career Crunch is seeking a Cat Scan (CT) Technician in New Mexico to join our radiology team. You will review patient history and orders, educate patients about procedures and imaging, and assist with contrast administration within scope of practice.

The role requires ARRT CT certification, a radiologic technologist license, and an associate degree in imaging. You will monitor patients, ensure safety, position patients, perform imaging, and report results, while pursuing professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in imaging required.
  • NM Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT CT certification.
  • BLS current upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educate patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report changes as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and identify image quality issues.
  • Take action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning or repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit and report scan results.

Job description

A Cat Scan (CT) Technician who excels in this role:

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current NM Radiologic Technologist license and possess an associate degree in a related field. Additional requirements include:

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) current upon hire.
  • License: ARRT certified/registered in radiography and Computed Tomography (CT)
