Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a CT-MRI Tech for our Odessa clinic in a PRN capacity. The role supports both CT and MRI radiologic exams, ensures high-quality imaging, and maintains patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Candidates may be level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience, with progressive requirements for CT/MRI technologists and ARRT certification. The position offers exposure to diverse cases within a leading oncology network.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • Certification in CT and MRI preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT and MRI procedures as ordered with high quality.
  • Escorts patients to treatment room and assists with dressings as needed.
  • Develops and processes radiologic films and logs procedures.
  • Ensures safety standards for patient and staff; adheres to regulatory requirements.

This position can be a level 1, 2, or Sr based on candidate experience.

Responsibilities

What does the CT-MRI Tech Tech do? Under general supervision, is responsible for the coordination and administration of all CT/MRI radiologic exams; ensures technical quality and timely reporting of results. Assures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies related to patient and employee safety. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

  • Performs CT and MRI procedures as ordered achieving a high level of quality.
  • Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional/modified studies, etc.
  • Escorts patients to treatment room. Assists with dressings as necessary. Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of CT/MRI services.
  • Develops and processes radiologic films. Logs radiologic procedures completed. Processes routine paperwork.
  • Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologists care.
  • Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for adjustments to the proper company or facility.
  • Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Orders, logs, and returns outside films requested from other agencies; completes appropriate documentation.
  • Arranges for the release of films to patients and outside agencies.
  • Maintains paperwork for tracking loaned films. Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients and medical staff.

The ideal candidate for the CT-MRI Tech will have the following background and experience:

Level 1:

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • Certification in CT and MRI preferred.

Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements):

  • Minimum five years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.

Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements):

  • Minimum seven years experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.
