Job summary

Premier Health Partners in Dayton is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures with contrast, coordinate patient flow, and ensure safety within the CT suite. The role calls for ARRT RT (R) registry, CPR within 30 days of hire, and an Associate degree in Radiologic Technology.

On-call responsibilities may be required, and licensure in Ohio is expected. This position is based in the MVH facility and offers full-time hours in the CT Scan unit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or Allied Health field.
• ARRT RT (R) registry is required; CT registry preferred.
• CPR certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• ODH licensure is required.
• One year CT experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT procedures with appropriate contrast under protocol.
• Prepare contrast, follow sterile technique, and monitor patient safety.
• Coordinate patient flow and prepare study documentation and reports.
• Assist Radiologist in procedures and manage emergency situations.
• Maintain equipment and adhere to radiation safety policies.
• Educate patients about procedures and ensure accurate records.

Position Summary

Independently performs computed tomography (CT) procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT scanner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities or at other facilities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Performs CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates CT studies for technical image quality.
• Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure.
• Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies / procedures. Performs daily and weekly QC as required.
• Prepares and administers contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practices sterile techniques.
• Assists Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
• Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.
• Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
• Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
• Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.
