Job summary

Ascension is seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-precision CT scans for diagnostic imaging in the Nashville area. You will work with radiologists to ensure optimal image quality while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, positioning patients, administering contrast, and adhering to radiation safety standards. Licensing requirements and ongoing protocol optimization are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• NMTCB CT certification or ARRT CT certification required before hire/date, CNMT acceptance also considered.
• Active BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-precision CT scans to provide radiologists with critical images for diagnosis.
• Position patients and operate advanced imaging equipment to ensure clinical accuracy and patient comfort.
• Safely administer contrast and medications, prioritizing patient safety and protocol adherence.
• Monitor patient status in real time and maintain radiation protection standards.
• Review and help refine imaging protocols to maintain diagnostic quality.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Execute high-precision CT scans to provide radiologists with the critical images needed for accurate disease and injury diagnosis.
• Navigate advanced imaging technology and patient positioning to ensure both clinical accuracy and a comfortable patient experience.
• Manage the safe administration of contrast and medications, prioritizing patient well-being and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Advocate for patient safety by monitoring clinical status in real-time and maintaining rigorous radiation protection standards.
• Refine departmental excellence by evaluating imaging protocols and recommending updates to ensure the highest diagnostic quality.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. NMTCB(CT) Computed Tomography Specialty
• Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
